Meet Seth Monk

Seth Monk is a spiritual teacher, meditation guide, Siddha healer, author, and former Buddhist monk whose work brings ancient wisdom into direct conversation with the challenges of modern life.

Originally from Andover, Massachusetts, Seth studied Fine Arts at the University of Hartford before an enduring fascination with consciousness, spirituality, and the unseen dimensions of life led him in an entirely different direction. His search for deeper answers eventually took him to Germany and then into the Vietnamese Zen tradition, where he ordained as a Buddhist monk.

For eight years, Seth lived and trained in monasteries, devoting himself to meditation, Buddhist philosophy, community life, and service. During this period, he had the opportunity to meet, study with, and receive teachings from some of the world’s most respected Buddhist masters, including His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, the 17th Karmapa, Ajahn Brahm, Tenzin Palmo, Pa Auk Sayadaw, and Dhammadipa.

His monastic training also introduced him to Chinese medicine, contemplative healing, and the transformative power of disciplined spiritual practice. Among his most intensive experiences was a three-month silent retreat during which he completed 100,000 prostrations.

Seth’s search for wisdom took him on pilgrimages throughout India, Tibet, Nepal, France, Germany, and Australia. He practiced at Plum Village Monastery in France, spent time in Bodhgaya, India, where the Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment, and completed a solitary retreat in a cave on the sacred mountain of Tashiding in Sikkim. He later undertook a three-month Rains Retreat at Bodhinyana Monastery in Australia under the guidance of Ajahn Brahm.

In 2015, Seth returned to India for nine months. This journey marked a profound transition as he stepped away from monastic life and began exploring how the depth of spiritual practice could be made accessible to people living in the modern world.

After returning to the United States, Seth became increasingly concerned by the emotional suffering and opioid crisis affecting young people in Massachusetts. He began teaching meditation and emotional wellness in schools and youth organizations, helping students develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and inner stability. His work later expanded to organizations including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Since then, Seth has continued to study meditation, energy healing, somatic transformation, consciousness, and the relationship between emotional patterns and spiritual growth. He has led workshops, retreats, and healing experiences across the United States and internationally, from Sedona to Rishikesh, and has shared his work with live audiences of up to 2,000 people.

Today, Seth is based in Los Angeles, where he works with individuals, groups, wellness organizations, and leaders seeking meaningful transformation. His Siddha Healing sessions, spiritual guidance, and transformational programs help people access the deeper layers of consciousness where unresolved emotions, limiting beliefs, and unconscious patterns are held.

Seth’s work is not about escaping life. It is about becoming more fully present within it.

Through a rare combination of monastic discipline, intuitive insight, emotional depth, humor, and lived experience, Seth creates a space where people can release what no longer serves them, reconnect with their inherent worth, and move toward greater clarity, confidence, purpose, and freedom.

Working with Seth is an invitation into a deeper relationship with yourself, guided by a seasoned spiritual friend who has devoted his life to understanding the mind, opening the heart, and supporting genuine transformation.

He looks forward to getting to know you!
